Book Club Interest
The cutlery drawer presents a queer crip book club for all! Prioritising disabled stories, histories, and texts written by disabled/crip/sick/chronicaly ill folks.
How will it be formatted?
To make this book club as accessible as possible we will have different ways for people to interact with the club. Joining the club means you will engage with one of these – but there is no expectation to do all the formats.
We will provide:
- Scheduled live book discussions via zoom
- Scheduled ‘reading sprints’ to read virtually together via zoom
- Discord
- Forum hosted on our new website for ongoing general & chapter specific discussion
Do I have to pay for anything?
Everything at The Cutlery Drawer is free of cost.
We will endeavor to provide a free copy of a screen-reader friendly PDF of whatever text we read.
When possible we will try to provide an audio-book version too.
Do I have to be disabled to join?
No! You can be non-disabled and join too just make sure you are complying with the space agreements.
What kind of things will we be reading?
- Disability justice theory
- Disability justice history
- Fiction books written by disabled authors
